Weet je nog dat wij  ++ Plustwee een één-dagsverkoopexpositie hebben a.s. ZONDAG 30 SEPTEMBER in de Theeschenkerij Homanshof in Anloo?! Van 11:00 tot 17:00 uur zijn we daar. We noemen het Kunst bij de Thee, maar je kunt er ook heerlijke taartjes bij krijgen! Ik neem ook mijn eigen werk mee (tassen, etuis, armbandjes etc.)

biobased

Experimenting with biobased materials yesterday gave us (Plustwee) remarkable and exciting results. Pictures show samples of potato flower which looks and behaves like plastic.

With a small group of designers and artists we will join the grand opening event on 21 and 22 September of the old CiBoGa terrain in Groningen initiated and organised by House of Design and  Open Lab Ebbinge. We will show our work and these results from experimenting with new biobased materials like bioplastic, hemp, yarn of lactic acid.
The event coincides with the Creative City Challenge (CCC).

new baby

We all - yes, even my husband :) - fell deeply in love with our toddler called TEUNTJE. She is 11 weeks old now. Even our old cat seems to have accepted her... I could not have been happier about that.

one day exhibition

On Sunday 30 September from 11 till 17h. ++Plustwee (my new collaboration with textile designer Marjolein Perin) will participate in a ONE DAY SALE-EXHIBITION in "theeschenkerij Homanshof" in Anloo.
This will actually be one of the last occasions in which our new collection of cushions can be bought directly from us. In the very near future our products will be part of the Young&Hanson collection. We are very proud and pleased about that! So please come and pay a visit in Anloo on the 30th.

holiday activities

I never take much time to sew myself something new, but now I've managed to make me a sweet fluffy cotton summer dress out of a vintage duvet cover with red and (fluo) pink details.

My girls are already free from (secondary) school, so they are helping me out
.... doing last minute dinner shoppings and preparing meals....

 "Would you buy a few cans of tomato paste?" They return with this + six which I've already in the pan :)

.... making fine and healthy fruit smoothies enjoyed in pyjamas in the morning sun

 
.... they're having a girlfriends camping in our jungle, which I thougth was a top experience when I was their age (well a bit younger), did you?

...and they both are on to the next grade so we rewarded them with a Wii Just Dance game, which my husband and I find very amusing too :)

New leather bracelets, 2,2 cm wide, closes with popper, decorated with self designed stamp.
Made from leftovers* after cutting leather for the bags because I want to produce as little waste as possible and I do not want to discard any of this precious material.

feathered friends

  

You all probably know by now my deep love for feathered friends. I now can add a couple as my favorites: last year I met some new friends from Eindhoven,  a band called Bird. They stayed at our place last weekend for a musical festival in a village nearby. I feel so privileged to have these sweet people rehearse and play music in our living. This time they were playing for the occasion with bearded John of Green Pony  :)

Cultural Sunday

Next Sunday July 1, Marjolein and me will be guest artitsts at the Cultural Sunday from 13h - 17h in Het Paleis in Groningen. You can find us in the workroom (no 166) of Petra Koonstra on the first floor.
We'll show, present and sell our ++Plustwee cushions. Following the theme of this Cultural Sunday (see flyer above) you can see us in action as we'll be actually really working and of course you may ask questions on the design and work process. We'll also bring some solowork of Van San and lamps of Marjolein Perin.
