practice for fun

Although I'm almost completely fed up with those retro vintage prints I used to work with when I started my business, there's one I still like. I bought a piece of turquoise curtain years and years ago in a thriftstore in Belgium or Maastricht, I can't remember exactly. In it was a rather goofy looking dog, but the rest of the animals looked so sweet; a goat, a cat and my favorite this lovely little deer.
Last night I was fooling around in Photoshop (read: practice, practice, practice) and I created this birthday card just for fun. Even the pattern background I designed myself.


I'll soon post some pictures of new fabric stuff (prints and products) I designed last week.

Now it's finally done! A subtle pattern of red dots on my favorite shoes....

And I painted something else ... a vintage glass vase seems to turn into ceramic....

Oh no! That's not our yard outside! It's ...it's a CAGE! We are trapped in a lab and they're trying to get me to imprint on my own species before they return me to the wild!

The big green and grey plasticised cardboard is great for an on-your-belly sleigh ride!
On top of the dike near the Waddenzee, I realize how unique and wonderfully flat Holland is and I feel fortunate...

She has new skates... and only once in approx. 7 years you can skate on the canal near our house.

nostalgia

Postcrossing, I discovered it recently, is seen as snail mail nowadays in this era of fast modern technology. But it so much fun (more! than via e- mail) to send and receive postcards to and fro the world and having little chats with someone...global village...
On the other hand, the way postcrossing is done it could only exist because of technology I realise that.
